This has a medium body feel to it, which is somewhat standard for a Downeast cider. I get a short but slightly sharp bite upfront that quickly fades into the rest of the sip. A line on the outside of the can reads “If fall were a drink, it’d be this,” and I’m inclined to agree. It had just the right amount of pumpkin spice, and the acidity helped to balance out the sweetness, preventing the cider from becoming too sweet. Lastly, this cider had no tannin.Īs a lover of pumpkin spice lattes, cupcakes, coffee - well, pretty much anything pumpkin spice - I really enjoyed Pumpkin Blend. I found that the carbonation had a cumulative feel to it: the more sips you took, the more carbonation you felt. It is semi-sweet, and its carbonation is in between medium and high, leaning more toward medium. Due to being unfiltered, this cider leans more toward medium bodied. The pumpkin spice flavor remains into the aftertaste, as do the secondary notes of apple. The end of the sip also brings with it a return of the acidity, which had slightly toned down during the middle part of the sip. As the pumpkin spice flavor intensifies, the apple flavor correspondingly decreases. About halfway through the sip, the pumpkin spice (nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon) starts to come through, gradually increasing in intensity until reaching its climax at the end of the sip. That initial sharpness is accompanied by a hint of lemon, which is quickly overtaken by a sweet apple flavor. Upon sipping the cider, there is a noticeable amount of acidity, as well as a small amount of tingling on the tongue from carbonation.

Pumpkin Blend has a pleasant, warm aroma of nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon.
